A short flight from Yangon and we were by the Bay of Bengal at Ngapali beach. Almost undiscovered by Burmese tourism standards, this pristine and beautiful beach is so low-key and relaxing we almost don’t want to tell anyone else it even exists! hehe…

With quiet traffic and small villages, we took our hotel’s bikes and rode down the coast to a fishing village, a hive of activity after the morning’s catch. Riding through tropical forests and past deserted beaches (and buildings?!) we couldn’t help but feel very lucky to be here.

Swimming in the luke-warm sea, drinking a beer at sunset and as always, enjoying the company of ever-friendly Burmese people – we’ll be back…
