After a little rest by a lake in Pokhara, central Nepal, we flew back to Kathmandu and headed a few kilometres east to the ancient city of Bhaktapur. With World Heritage listing and no shortage of daytrippers from Kathmandu, we stayed in a guesthouse built in 1470 and enjoyed this delightful town from dawn to dusk.

As if in a movie set, daily life feels as ancient as the buildings that line the squares and laneways. All manner of trades are practiced – woodworkers, potters, weavers and so much more. A feast for the senses and an amazing experience from start to finish.
